JJ Grey & Mofro (formerly just Mofro) is not a new band. In fact, they've been toiling around the jam band circuit for about two decades playing straight ahead rock infused blues music. And the truth is, as it often is for bands of this ilk, the creed of “if it ain't broke don't fix it.” Sure the true fan will be able to appreciate this, their fifth album (3rd on Alligator Records), more or less in comparison to their other four albums. But to the outside listener this is nothing more than good, honest, American grounded music, and why ask anything more of these guys? After all, it has been working for them after all
