Hailing from Los Angeles but originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Juakali pushes the boundaries of traditional reggae on his debut full-length. This album is very bass-heavy and incorporates a lot of dubstep influence, but also ventures into dancehall, bhangra, and grime. Lyrically, Juakali covers broad topics such as the struggle of the lower class, love, experiencing a miracle, and simply doing what is right. It's a very solid, catchy, and forward-thinking reggae album that definitely deserves a listen.

4. This Life - VERY dubsteppy, with A Perfect Circle-sounding guitars. I had no idea reggae could sound like this. 5/5
7. Just Like Me - dancehall meets Indian bhangra. This song goes HARD. 5/5
